Facility, Health & Safety Committee
- Committee Chairperson(s): Mr. Bruce Singer; Interim Assistant Superintendent for Business, Mr. Christopher Harrell; School Crew Leader, and Mr. Sean Spiller; Head of Security
- Description: Policy 5634 established the Health & Safety Committee in order to involve the community in facilities development. Members of this Committee will make recommendations to the Board of Education to develop facilities in a manner that addresses economic concerns, quality education needs, safety, durability, maintenance, insurance and flexibility.
- Committee Task(s):
- Review and refine buildings and grounds work distribution and mechanism used to address all concerns;
- Track and provide feedback concerning maintenance and capital improvement projects throughout the District;
- Review building conditions report to determine overall facility needs, prioritize funding, and determine the feasibility of a future Capital Bond Proposal;
- Review and refine districtwide safety protocols to ensure efficiency and appropriate response mechanism;
- Work with external support groups (SCPD) to provide the District with insight and recommendations to improve safety protocols and hardening tools to strengthen the overall security of our facilities; and
- Provide Board of Education/Community updates throughout the year at BOE meetings.
