Using The Citrix Portal

 

1)    Point your browser to http://www.cmschools.org

 

2)    On the bottom of the link list to the left you should see a link for “Citrix Portal”.  The page that is presented contains two links and this document.  NOTE: There are two links, one which is only for outside the district use and the other for inside use.

 

3)    Once you have clicked, you will see a page that looks like the below. At the top of the bar you will be asked to Install an Active X control called an “ICA Client”. This is used to connect to the school’s Citrix server and should be allowed to run/install.

 

NOTE TO MACINTOSH USERS: You will not be prompted to install the client.  You need to go to

http://www.citrix.com/English/SS/downloads/ and choose Clients, then select the proper client for your machine.

 

4)    Once it completes, log in with your current network username and password. IE: The username and password you use to log into the schools computers.

 

 

 

 

5)    Upon successful login you should be presented with this page:

Applications are presented either directly or are contained in sub folders.  You may need to use the “Top” or “Up” buttons to navigate to other applications.

 

 

6)    Your Documents are available to you through the applications that you use.  There is no direct access to your “My Documents” folder as you would have in school.  Open the application that you need, select open from file and then choose the document you want to use.  Saving files will follow the same procedure.
