Athletic Message
Aside from the academic program offered in
Center Moriches, there is also available to
students a stellar athletic program. More than
45% of our students participate in athletics at
some point during the year with the majority of
teams making the playoffs and in many cases going
well beyond the league playoffs. Below is a brief
synopsis of our recent successes:
Athletics
Awards and Recognitions:
Fall 2009
♦ Boys Soccer Team Won the State Championship!
♦ Girls Soccer Team won the Section XI Class "B",Long
Island Championships.
♦ Girls Volleyball made the playoffs
♦ Football made the playoffs in just it's third
year of varsity competition, and won it's first
playoff game.
♦ Girls Cross Country were co-league champs and
won the Class "C" championship to qualify them for
the State Championship as a team.
♦ Girls Tennis started it's first year of varsity
competition.
Winter 2009-10
♦ Wrestling had four Section XI champions.
Finished 2nd in the Division II county
championship. Sent five wrestlers to the state
tournament.
♦ Boys Basketball were League VII Champs, and made
the playoffs.
♦ Girls Basketball were League, County, Long
Island Champs.
Spring 2010
♦ Baseball won the League VII title, and made the
county finals.
♦ Softball made the playoffs.
♦ Girls/Boys Lacrosse started their first years of
Varsity lacrosse
♦ Two girls qualified for the state champonship in
Track.
♦ Boys Tennis started their first year of varsity
competition.

o Nearly Half of the Student Body Participates in

o There are More than 40 Middle and High School
Teams
There are More than 15 Varsity Teams including
Boys’ and Girls’ Lacrosse, Boys’ and Girls’
Soccer, Football, Cross Country, Boys’ and Girls’
Volleyball, Softball, Baseball, Boys’ and Girls’
Basketball, Wrestling, and Boys’ and Girls’ Track,
Boys' and Grils' Tennis
Seven (7) Varsity Teams Earned
