• Description: The Curriculum Committee meets regularly to make recommendations to the Board of Education in the areas of curriculum, instruction and assessment including our Annual Title I Plan. This Committee meets the mandates under The Parent & Family Engagement Policy 1900.

• Committee Task(s):
  • Monitor the development, alignment, and implementation of K–12 curriculum guides, instructional frameworks, literacy initiatives, and assessment practices to ensure consistent, equitable instruction aligned with the NYS Portrait of a Graduate.

  • Review districtwide grading practices, instructional programs, and curriculum resources to promote consistency, fiscal responsibility, student achievement, and the success of all learners, including English Language Learners and students with disabilities.

  • Analyze assessment data and student performance trends to monitor progress, identify instructional priorities, and inform recommendations for curriculum, instruction, and professional learning.

  • Support the effective and ethical integration of instructional technology, including artificial intelligence, and monitor the use of hardware and software to enhance learning, personalize instruction, maintain curriculum alignment, and reduce redundancy.

  • Promote transparency and stakeholder engagement by supporting accessible curriculum and instructional resources for families and staff and providing regular updates and recommendations to the Board of Education and community.
